The power kit specialists from Superchips launched today their phase 2 upgrade for the MINI Cooper S R56. Superchips’ phase 2 ECU can be installed in units produced after March 1st, 2010, and powered by the 181 bhp (184 PS) 1.6-litre turbocharged engine. The Superchips MINI Cooper S R56 kit adds an additional 32 Nm at 3765 rpm, with gains from 3000 – 6000 rpm, and 25 bhp at 5444 rpm.
Even though the Superchips ECU gives the MINI Cooper S quite a bit of extra horsepower, the fuel consumption remains unchanged, at 48 mpg. Superchips’ new ECU for the MINI Cooper S R56 is priced at 455.00 GBP and comes with a 12 month / 30,000 supplementary full vehicle warranty.
