2013 Opel Astra Cabrio Teaser Review

General Motors today unveiled the first teaser images of the new Opel Astra Cabrio, which will enter the market next year as a 2013 model. Opel / Vauxhall design, Mark Adams, published this image as a result of an Astra convertible prototype was taken by spy photographers.

The convertible is based on the Opel Astra three-door version of the model and replaced the metal hard-top with a retractable fabric roof. Judging by this picture, it appears that the convertible version of the Opel Astra has a longer rear overhang than the sedan.

Unfortunately, outside of this teaser, Vauxhall / Opel has not provided further details regarding the Astra Cabrio. However, we can make some assumptions. The Astra Cabrio will probably be the same engine and transmission line that the hardtop version. We can go even further and believe that in the future we will see VXR / OPC / Opel Astra GTC versions Cabrio as well.
